Screenshots and GIFs
Captures are authored on the scene and produced alongside the main video export.
Screenshots
this.captureScreenshots([0, 1.5, 3.25]);
this.captureScreenshotsNamed([
[0.75, "opening.png"],
[2.4, "diagram/complete.png"],
]);
Unnamed captures are written under captures/. Named paths resolve relative to the render artifact directory.
GIF from exact timestamps
this.captureGif("key-moments.gif", [0.5, 0.8, 1.15, 1.6, 2.1]);
This is useful when the desired frames are not evenly spaced.
GIF from a continuous range
this.captureGifRange("morph.gif", {
from: 1.2,
to: 3.8,
fps: 24,
});
The range is inclusive and uses the scene FPS when fps is omitted.
Behaviour
- Captures use exact virtual scene times.
- They are generated while exporting, not during preview.
- The render result reports the screenshot and GIF paths.
- Transparent PNG settings are also respected by authored captures where supported.
